Great Pot
This is the real deal. I didn't think it would be as heavy as it is. It's a high quality stainless steel. I'm not sure why another reviewer said the bottom wasn't thick. In my opinion it is. We're not talking cheapie Walmart quality stainless steel here. I was one of the unfortunate ones who lost electricity for a week during hurricane Sandy, and I used this pot on the bbq burner to boil water. It heated fast, and there was absolutely no marks on the bottom (which I kind of expected considering how long I left it on a high flame).
Acceptable for the price.
The build quality of this pot is mixed.
The pot itself is heavy enough, and seems to spread heat well. However, I use it for making large batches of soup where even heat distribution is less crucial, so I can't vouch for use in more heat sensitive uses.
The lid is a lid, feels well constructed.
The weak link in this pan is the handles. They are structurally sturdy, however the finish is rather poor. The plastic handles are a bit ill-sized to cover the metal interior of the handle, leaving some rough edges. The handles are also quite small. This could make the pan difficult or uncomfortable for someone with small hands or limited dexterity to lift with a full load.
Overall, this pan is good for the cost.
Love making soup now!
I used to get frustrated making soup because I didn't have a pot big enough and would have to split a recipe between two pots. Now there is ample room and making soup is fun. :)
