Pay attention to the details.
Overall it's a very nice pot, I mean how can you mess up a cast iron pot? Well, like this: first, the lid doesn't quite seal exactly right. It'll close, but it doesn't fit tightly into the pot. Second, leave a jagged edge on the tip of the handle, which you won't notice until you go to wash the pot and it cuts you, ouch!
I'd more than likely buy the pot again knowing these details, but I just have to wonder what's happened to quality control nowadays?
Nice pot with a few rough edges
This pot is great for cooking over an open fire. I typically hang mine over the fire vs. placing the pot directly on the coals; it works great both ways. The size 3 is big and heavy (as expected); it has plenty of capacity to cook for 6-7 people. The finish is a little rougher than Texsport or Lodge Logic cast iron, but it's definitly useable. My lid fits fine; the handle did have sharp edges on the ends; I've smoothed mine over with a Dremel. Overall, it's a nice, useable pot with a few rough edges. It's an awesome conversation piece at the campsite.
