Don't Let The Price Fool You
I use these for placemats, hot pans and to cushion items while traveling down the road. These are durable and a good size for multiple uses. They will last and only require wiping off when soiled. In the long run, for the frugal minded like myself, will cost less than traditional placemats or the anti-slip matting sold in rolls. When not traveling they are used as placemats,etc so I do not have them sitting in a pile doing nothing.

LOVE this thing!
I was at the Le Creuset outlet near me and my mission was the 7.25 quart Dutch Oven. This silicone mat caught my eye and I bought it without even looking at the price. Later I realized I had dropped 20 bucks on it and thought, "oh...maybe I shouldn't have done that - that's a lot of money." However, I have come to LOVE this mat and might even buy another one! Not only can you put hot pots on it, but I never had anyplace to put the hot LIDS as I was checking on my cooking. Now I do. It holds a cookie sheet or roasting pan just fine since it is so nice and big. Another major use I find for it is to stabilize my cutting boards - some of which are slightly less than perfect (a bit warped). I have a lot of respect for sharp things and I really hate it when the cutting board wants to slide even a little bit on the counter. This mat holds them still. I love how big this mat is.
